Filled with intensity of color, light and textures, LeeAnn Brook’s large format contemporary landscape paintings are built with layers that reflect the many layers of nature. Depth is created with the use of subtle patterns of spatter, strokes and drips, and is then integrated into the painting as a whole, where the technique becomes secondary only to the full effect of a vibrant landscape. The rustling of grasses, glimmering of branches and stillness of a riverbed are all an integral part of the essence of Brook’s paintings.
